This Vegetable Fermentation Kit Kit provides 2 complete Perfect Pickler® Systems - fits standard wide mouth canning jars (you supply).   The perfect solution for customers who want to Ferment More! jars at one time but don't need the extra Recipe or Instruction book.

Foolproof fermenting every time. Jar top kits fit onto wide mouth mason jars to create fresh, raw, affordable fermented (pickled) vegetables (enzymes, probiotics and more..). NO cultures, NO cooking.  Just add filtered or spring water, vegetables and sea salt. Our ClearView AirLock and Gasket create an airtight seal to prevent unwanted microorganisms from spoiling the recipe and our Brine 'Catch' Cup prevents leaking.  Domestic and imported parts. Wide Mouth Jar Kit fits 1/2 pt, 1 pt, 1 qt and 2 qt wide mouth jars (not included).

History of Fermented Foods:

Civilization throughout human history has been fermenting as a method of food preservation.  What they did not know was their main method of food preservation was also giving them countless health benefits.  As other methods of food preservation were discovered and invented, fermentation became lost and forgotten for a time.  However, in recent years the fermentation of food has been rediscovered.  With its rediscovery, all the previously unknown health benefits of food fermentation have come into the light.  So while we don't necessary need to ferment foods for the means of food preservation, it has become apparent that our health can greatly benefit from it.  When you create a salt water solution for your ferment, the naturally occurring bacteria in your vegetables is allowed to create many vitamins and minerals.  These bacteria also work to create peptides and enzymes that actively improve your health, mainly in your gut.  This can allow these fermented foods to act as anti-oxidants, anti-microbials, anti-fungals, anti-inflammatories, anti-diabetics and as anti-atherosclerotics.  These are only a few of the benefits that fermented foods can give.  As this information is becoming more and more widely known, many areas of the scientific community are continuing research on the process of food fermentation.
