Pre-Order Notice — Shipping Early May

These live medicinal herb plants are being professionally grown by Michael and the team at Farm on Central (Growing Farmers) and will ship in early May, once they reach strong, healthy transplant size.

This means you're reserving your plants now while they finish growing—so when they arrive, they’ll be ready to plant directly into your garden beds or containers at the ideal time for spring planting.

Because these plants are being grown specifically for these bundles, quantities are limited, and once they're spoken for, we won't have extras available later.

Start your herbal journey with a diverse collection of medicinal herbs, handpicked to form the foundation of your home apothecary. With plants included for coughs, anxiety, overall immune health, and many other medicinal uses, this bundle is a living medicine pantry!

These plants are:

Easy to grow, even if it’s your first garden

Highly productive, giving you plenty to harvest

Unpacking the Bundle

Holy Basil / Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum): Holy Basil is highly valued in traditional medicine as a stress reliever. Most commonly used as a daily tea, tulsi supports the nervous system, promotes calm focus, and may help regulate cortisol levels.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis): Calendula is best known for its powerful skin-healing properties. The resin-rich flowers are infused into oils and salves to support wound healing, soothe irritation, and promote tissue repair.

German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla): A classic calming herb, chamomile is widely used as a tea to support relaxation, sleep, and digestion. It’s especially helpful for easing nervous tension, calming an upset stomach, and reducing inflammation.

Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea): Echinacea is one of the most well-known herbs for immune support. Both the roots and flowers are used medicinally, and it’s especially valued for its ability to support the body during acute infections.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia): Lavender is prized for its calming and nervous system-supporting effects, and is commonly used to reduce anxiety, promote restful sleep, and ease headaches. Its aromatic properties also make it ideal for sachets, steam inhalations, and relaxing herbal blends.

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis): Considered a mild sedative, lemon balm is a gentle yet powerful herb for the nervous system, often used to lift mood, reduce anxiety, and improve sleep. Due to its muscle relaxing effects, it has also traditionally been used to alleviate digestive or menstrual cramps.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): A deeply restorative adaptogen, ashwagandha is traditionally used to support the body during periods of chronic stress, fatigue, and burnout. Most often prepared as a tincture, powder, or simmered root tea, it helps regulate the stress response, support energy levels, and promote overall resilience.

Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica): Nettle is one of the most nutrient-dense herbs you can grow—rich in minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium. Commonly used as a tea or nourishing herbal infusion, it supports energy, overall immune health, and traditionally has been used to support seasonal allergies.

Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis): Marshmallow root produces mucilage, a gel-like substance known for its ability to coat and calm irritated tissues. It’s most often used to soothe sore throats and dry coughs, but may also be useful in protecting against stomach ulcers.

Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca): Motherwort is a powerful ally for the cardiovascular system. Typically taken as a tincture or tea, it has been used to ease anxiety, calm heart palpitations, lower blood pressure, and improve healthy circulation.

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus): Best known for its strong, refreshing aroma, eucalyptus is widely used for respiratory support. The leaves are often used in steam inhalations, teas (in small amounts), or infused oils to help open airways and ease congestion. It’s especially helpful during colds or seasonal respiratory challenges.

Catnip (Nepeta cataria): While famous for its effect on cats, catnip is a gentle, calming herb for humans. Commonly used as a tea, it helps support relaxation, digestion, and mild tension relief.

Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis): A medicinal superfood, elderberry is most often used to make syrups, tinctures, and teas, especially during cold and flu season. The berries are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, and are effective at boosting immune health to help the body respond to illness more effectively.

Growing Information

🌱 Plant Type: Mix of annuals and perennials
🌱 Hardiness Zones: Typically 4–10 (varies slightly by plant)
🌱 When to Plant: After last frost in spring
🌱 When to Harvest: Beginning in early summer. Harvest leaves throughout the season, and flowers when they come in.

Cultivation Tips

  • Soil requirements: Well-draining soil with moderate fertility. Most herbs prefer soil that’s not overly rich.
  • Sunlight: Full sun (6–8 hours daily) for best growth and highest medicinal potency.
  • Watering: Moderate watering. Allow soil to dry slightly between waterings—most of these herbs prefer not to stay soggy.
  • Harvesting: Harvest regularly to encourage new growth. Morning harvests (after dew dries) provide the best flavor and potency.
  • Long-term garden care: Many of these herbs (like calendula and chamomile) will self-seed, giving you future crops with little effort. Perennials like echinacea, lavender, and lemon balm will come back year after year. This bundle is designed to give you a long-term medicinal herb garden, so you aren't having to replant every year.

Non-GMO Commitment: At The Farm on Central, all our plants are guaranteed non-GMO and not genetically modified in any way, upholding natural breeding methods and promoting sustainable gardening and farming practices.
